Computer Accounting For Clubs & Societies

A few extra thoughts for clubs & societies...

Hassle-free bookkeeping...

The job of treasurer is not usually the most sort-after job in a club or not-for-profit organisation - but with a little training and some inexpensive software, new or existing treasurers can bring the finances under control, and without spending lots of club money or their own time.

If your club is not registered for GST, you can even use the free version of the software (called Cashbook Home).  It's quite limited but it will keep track of finances.

If more extensive reporting or features are needed (like sending out invoices, tracking incoming bills etc), or if the club or society is GST registered, then the more advanced Cashbook versions are better, and available at very reasonable cost to the club.

Our Workshops (with trial software provided) will get you up and running - and you have 3 months to see if the software works for the club before you have to register (and pay for) it!  We'll also give your treasurer some tips on how to set up the club accounting systems too.

Simple transfer to new treasurers...

The software we train in is registered on a data file basis.  This has real advantages for a club or not-for-profit entity.

Data file registration works on the file containing the club finances - not the software itself.  The file can be moved to any computer with the (free) software installed, and it is automatically registered.  The treasurer can easily hand on to the new treasurer at the end of their term - all the new treasurer has to do is load up the free software and 'restore' the backup file.

It's easy to pass the accounts on to the society accountant for auditing at year end too.

Easy-to-prepare, easy-to-understand reports...

Cashbook Complete's built in reports make preparing and presenting information for monthly or annual meetings very fast and very easy.  The reports themselves can be modified (for example for special projects), but the standard reports are simple to prepare, easy for members to understand, and they remain the same across future club treasurers.

Everyone is able to understand how the club finances are going.  More detailed reports for auditors, accountants or funders are easy to prepare too.

Here is an example of an income and expenses report (from our imaginary training company).
