Computer Accounting - Your Software
We use Cashbook Complete...
...but we won't ask you to buy any software before, during, or after our training!
- We'll introduce you to what we think is easy software to learn.
- You may decide to keep using it, but whether you buy it or not is up to you.
- We are independent trainers and you are not learning 'our' software.
- Apart from wishing you success, we have no interest in what software you buy.
Why we use it...
Cashbook Complete is a very good place to start learning computer accounting.
- It does the job well for most small enterprises, and it is free to use for 90 days.
- During this trial period the software is fully operational except for two minor functions - neither of which is important for testing out the software thoroughly.
By starting on this simple software:
- you make the job of learning computer accounting easier,
- you maximise your chances of getting computer accounting going, and
- it costs nothing if you decide to move on to other software once you build your confidence.
The hardest accounting software to learn is your first - so we keep it simple. When you know how to set up and use that, moving to another is not a big deal.
Load it on more than 1 computer - it's legal!
Cashbook Complete (Acclaim Software) is shareware. We provide a copy free with our training or it can be downloaded off the Internet.
- The software is licenced per user file.
- You can load the software on as many computers as you wish.
- Since the file is registered (not the software) it can be moved around - home/office/accountant - and it stays registered.
The drawback of this method is that a separate registration fee must be paid for each entity (you cannot legally do the accounts for more than one business per licenced version).
Cashbook versions...
There are two main versions of Cashbook Complete.
- Cashbook Lite contains tools to manage all your accounting including GST returns, incoming bills and incoming payments, as well as a few other useful things (phone and address lists etc.). It allows you to create your own custom reports too. IT DOES NOT HANDLE INVOICES AND STATEMENTS, but if your business does not send out invoices then this is the choice for you and it costs just $120 to register.
- Cashbook Complete adds the capacity to send out invoices and statements, as well as creating quotations (and then tracking expenses and income against them). It costs $240 to register.
In both cases the registration fee is a once-only, there are no further annual fees or subscriptions, and any future upgrades to the software are available off the Internet at no charge.
